update on the test situation
still haven't studied...
and now i'm going to bed
just wanted to let you know about a little phenomenon, a small quirk, you might say...
when i go to type "florida" i almost always type "floriday" and have to delete the "y" (except, by some extreme stroke of fate (or the fact that i'm thinking about it) that first florida (and that one) in this post)
i'm guessing that it comes from all of those stinking days of the week ending in "d-a-y," (there are around seven of them, i think) but i don't really know
does anyone else have this problem?
this could quite possibly be one of my most random posts ever
blowing me away recently (as in today):
my God through my girls
Ephesians - i went to look for some of what i've read in Ephesians today, and when i went to biblegateway.com, Eph 2:8-10 was remembered in the little text box thingee, this is what it is:
8God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
~NLT (emphasis mine)
who am i to be called God's masterpiece? am i living up to that title? am i claiming the new identity in Christ that He has given me? am i asking Him what He planned for me long ago, searching for that so He can be glorified?
in the message, verses 7-10 are put like this (again, emphasis mine):
7-10Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It's God's gift from start to finish! We don't play the major role. If we did, we'd probably go around bragging that we'd done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.
God is blowing me away even now by putting this into my path, just that simple, bolded part right up there. trust has also been a theme with me lately (seems to be a theme quite often, actually...), so that all fits as well.
thoughts to ponder while heading to bed before my 8:30 reading meeting at Feitshan's, the school that i'm observing at this semester...hooray, i get to meet 21 second graders and 1 cooperating teacher tomorrow!
gnight
peace
